Visit to the Government Art Collection with a tour

Almost 125 years-old, the Government Art Collection displays works of art in more than 365 British government buildings in the UK and worldwide. Its growing collection of over 14,000 works of art range from 16th century works to contemporary works of arts. In 2021, the Collection moved to its new premises in the heart of Whitehall in the Old Admiralty Building, Admiralty Place.

The tour will provide an introduction to the Government Art Collection and the Collection’s role in promoting British art, history and culture around the world. The tour will also include a visit to the technical workshop and art racking room.



Charing Cross is the nearest British Rail station and Underground station.

Early booking is recommended by members to be sure of a place, before spare places are offered to guests.
– Please advise if you have any specific access requirements
– All attendees must bring photographic ID to present at reception.
– Since they only have a small cloakroom, attendees should bring small bags/ rucksacks, not any larger luggage.



LSAG Members – Confirmation will be emailed within 3 days after the last date bookings close.

Guest of an LSAG member – Confirmation either way that you have a place or not, will be sent within 3 days after the last date that bookings close.
