A drawing and sketching event at the King’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace with a resident artist. You will have the opportunity to meet the artist. The artists are all graduates of The Drawing Year, the Royal Drawing School’s full-scholarship postgraduate level course.

You will see the masterpieces created during the Renaissance period and have the opportunity to draw, either making use of the Gallery’s resources (including stools) or bring your own pencils!

This exhibition brings together the widest range of drawings from this revolutionary Renaissance artistic period ever to be shown in the UK. Exploring the diversity and accomplishment of drawing across Italy between 1450 and 1600, the exhibition will feature around 160 works by over 80 artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael and Titian alongside lesser-known artists, all drawn from the Royal Collection, which holds one of the world’s greatest collections of Italian Renaissance drawings. This collection is inspired by this exquisite exhibition.
